Lucy Minerals - All Natural Mineral Makeup with Antioxidants

Hi! Thanks for visiting my website. I just want to introduce myself and explain how and why I developed my Mineral Makeup.

My name is Annie Langguth. I've been a Manicurist for over 14 years and am also an Esthetician (Skin Care Specialist).

My dad, Fred Theiss, is a retired Pharmacist. When I was three years old, he bought an old-fashioned corner Drug Store in Crestline, Ohio. I loved it there. It had wooden floors and an embossed tin ceiling. I practically grew up in the Drug Store, since he worked at least 80 hours per week for the first several years that he owned it. He was only 26 years old when he bought the Drug Store. My mother was just 24 years old, so she had her hands full caring for me and my younger brother (he was 18 months old at the time) plus she also worked on improving the displays and merchandising at the store. My dad was required by law to have a Pharmacist on duty at all times, and as a struggling young business owner couldn't afford to hire someone else, so that's why he was there so many hours. We would take plates of food to him at dinnertime. When I was in grade school, I would go there after school and he would pay me 25 cents an hour to dust bottles in the Pharmacy.

My inspiration for making my own products came from watching my dad mix different lotions, salves, and solutions.  The Drug Store's cosmetic counter is also where I developed my passion for cosmetics and skin care products. I loved playing with the Helena Rubenstein, Max Factor, Coty, Revlon, and Bonne Bell. In the 4th Grade, I took a shoe box of cosmetics to school and did "makeovers" at recess.

As a teenager, when I started developing some acne, he told me to go ahead and try some of the different products in the skin care aisle to see what worked for me. This is when I started paying attention to the different ingredients and how they worked.

Several years ago I started out making Cuticle Oil for my nail clients, using ear drop bottles that I got from my dad. Then I began making lotions, soaps, sugar scrub, fragrance sprays, and bath salts. I sold these along with my Mineral Makeup at my shop in Ohio called "The Pampered Princess", but now that I have sold the shop and am living in Florida, I have decided to focus on my Mineral Makeup.

Five years ago I began making mineral makeup because I have rosacea, oily skin, and adult acne. I had tried commercial mineral makeup brands, but they made my skin look more oily. I had been searching for many years for a foundation that would give coverage, soothe my skin, and not make it look shiny. Also, many traditional foundations gave me little itchy rashes; I think it was the preservatives that were causing the problem. And many foundations made me look like I was wearing a "mask". I wanted to look natural.

So I started doing research on the internet and decided to make my own foundation. I ordered books and ingredients, and spent months making up different formulas.

Eventually, I perfected my formula by giving samples to my friends, family, and nail clients to test and give feedback.  The result was a formula that works for all skin types.  It even works well for my clients with dry skin because it helps balance moisture.

This is the first foundation that has worked for me and I haven't developed any problems,  even after using it for several years.

Over the past two years I have enhanced my formula by adding Coffeeberry Extract (an antioxidant that is ten times more potent than green tea), Vitamin C, and the anti-irritant Allantoin. These added antioxidants help fight free radicals from our environment that cause our skin to age. The foundation shades remain the same as my original Pampered Princess formula.

If you live in the Central Florida area, please contact me if you would like to have a Lucy Mineral Party. I'm glad to give Mineral Makeup lessons and help you to find the most flattering shades for your unique coloring. You can contact me at annelangguth@aol.com.
